Pass the Honey was inspired by the hexagonal wax cells built by honey bees to store their larvae, honey, and pollen. The mock honeycomb pattern creates strands of yarn running across the surface of the fabric resulting in a beautiful waffle-y texture that is easy to create but appears delightfully intricate and tricky.
The honeycomb texture takes center stage throughout this mid-length, modified drop cardigan. Pass the Honey is knit flat with no waist shaping. Faux seam stitches are worked in reverse Stockinette Stitch until fronts and back are separated for armhole shaping. Stitches are then picked up at the armhole to knit the sleeves in the round.
